Victorian English antique cast iron Boot Scraper
An antique cast iron foot or boot scraper. Simply designed with two elegant raised supports which rest on an oval dish shaped base and with six small drainage holes. Underneath there are four pad feet raising the dish slightly off the ground. Faint remnants of the original paint remain, the whole piece having acquired a good mottled natural patina over time, making it a useful and attractive decorative garden antique.
History ~
19th century, England. Faint traces of the foundry name where the boot scrape was manufactured - Carron, in Scotland, are visible.
