Set of 3 antique Art Deco Spode Velamour matte white Jugs or Pitchers

An attractive set of three Art Deco jugs or pitchers, of graduating sizes. Made from earthenware in a soft cream colour with a matte glaze, as part of the Velamour range. Their simple streamlined design works particularly well with the matte glaze, giving the jugs a subtle and understated appearance.
History ~ The Velamour range was produced between 1932 and 1940, production was then interrupted due to World War II when restrictions were placed on what pottery companies could produce. Production resumed again in limited numbers between 1953 to 1969. The existence of a 'K' impress mark on the base of the jugs suggests they were produced in the earlier period.
