An attractive pair of heavy black cast iron fireplace Andirons or Fire Dogs, with good detailing to the castings. These were originally designed to allow large logs to be laid across them in order to raise the logs from the hearth floor so that it was not damaged and at the same ensuring the fire was well ventilated. These are a useful practical addition to a fireplace and also add traditional decorative detailing.
