Large French rustic 18th century antique Terracotta Pot
A large rustic antique terracotta pot with a decorative ribbed and pinched banding. It has acquired a good weathering and patina over several centuries of time.
History ~
Circa 1760, Charente, South West France.
Such jars were originally used to store and cool drinking water, and originally there would have been a muslin cloth secured over its rim to protect the water.
Condition ~
Good antique condition with a rustic finish.
