Wonderful tall, at over 1 metre high, free standing fruit wood abacus, a distinctive symmetrical design, perfect as a decorative antique or a demonstrative and practical learning tool for young children today.
History ~ 1920, Western European.
Condition ~ Good antique condition, all counters are present and the bars are fairly straight. Each joint is secured by a hand carved wooden cork screw style joint, so there is a very small amount of movement due to the height of the piece. However the piece is strong and steady and in very good condition, robust for use.
