Wonderful Aubusson tapestry wall hanging. Showing a garden scene in lovely soft colours, featuring ducks and a swan, who are framed by intricately depicted old trees, created using soft muted tones.
History ~
Early 1800s, France.
Condition ~
The tapestry was photographed against the light to show that there are several small areas where it needs repair, although it is robust, intact and complete. It would benefit from a professional clean and a backing could be added. It has its original borders, the border at the base is folded underneath.
