Glazed earthenware antique ceramic Vietnamese Jar from 11th century
A decorative barrel-shaped earthenware jar with a honey-coloured glaze. Over time the glazed surface has acquired a wonderful mottled patina, with many indentations and craquelure to the surface. The collar at the neck of the jar is decorated in a lotus petal design.
History ~
Ly dynasty, 10000 – 12000 AD, Vietnam.
Originally intended to store water or wine.

The jar is missing it's original lid. There is a large historical repair down one side, repaired a considerable time ago, which is shown in the images.
