A decorative antique watercolour and charcoal drawing of two thoroughbred Greyhounds. Their serene and noble poise has been perfectly captured by the artist, E M Samson, as they stand elegantly together.
History ~ Circa 1900, France.
E M Samson was a French artist, active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He focussed primarily on sculptures – bronze and terracotta works featuring animals, especially hares, foxes, dogs and monkeys but his work as an artist is also well recognised, with his main interest being in painting hunting dogs.
Condition ~ There is a small rip to the paper, as shown in the images.
