Decorative antique Japanese Cloisonné Vase with a dragon & turquoise enamelling

An attractive and eye-catching mid century antique cloisonné vase. Designed with bold decoration showing a golden dragon which is dramatically offset against a black background, the base of the vase having an undulating band of turquoise patterning.

History ~
Mid 1900s, Japan.

Cloisonné is a technique in which a metal surface, in this case brass, is covered in wires, into which coloured glass paste is placed, the object is then bent or hammered into a pattern.

Condition ~
Good antique condition, no dents.
