Decorative antique Japanese Cloisonné Tea Jar and Lid with green enamelling and a floral design

A pretty and appealing mid century antique cloisonné cylindrical tea jar and lid. Designed with polychrome decoration showing various small decorative exotic flowers, which are offset against a vivid green background, the inside and base being enamelled in a traditional turquoise colour.

History ~
Mid 1900s, Japan.

Cloisonné is a technique in which a metal surface, in this case brass, is covered in wires, into which coloured glass paste is placed, the object is then bent or hammered into a pattern.

Condition ~
Good antique condition, no dents.
