An attractive antique cloisonné small bowl. Designed with pretty red, yellow and green flowers, which are offset against a bold black background, and blend with the wonderful turquoise enamelled interior.
History ~ Circa 1920s, Japan.
Cloisonné is a technique in which a metal surface, in this case brass or possibly copper, is covered in wires, into which coloured glass paste is placed, the object is then bent or hammered into a pattern.
Condition ~ Good antique condition, no dents, the bowl is not perfectly shaped, the interior green enamel has dulled over time.
