Decorative antique charcoal drawing of Hounds and a Rabbit dated 1904

This charming charcoal drawing, in its original mount and frame, is a wonderful decorative antique. The background is full of movement and shape - with undulating hills, winding paths, small gates and even a distant windmill, all of which draw the eye in and create a sense of immediacy to the central action of the drawing - which is the two grey hounds or lurchers who are chasing a rabbit through a winding country field. All three animals are drawn with a sharp and decisive visual eye, they are full of character and their intent is clear in the chase that is ensuing, both dogs look focused but the rabbit looks more even more focused and is determined to escape!
