Antique Georgian tiger oak Tilt Top Table

An attractive Georgian oak tilt top table, with a great deal of rustic charm. The circular oak top is made from three well grained tiger oak planks in a warm and mellow colour. The table is raised on a pedestal with a tripod base. It can be tilted upright and when opened flat is secured with a Georgian clasp mechanism.
History ~
Late 1700s, England.
Condition ~
Good antique condition, solid and ready for use. There has been some shrinkage between the planks which over time has been filled with dark wax. There is also a split in the wood on the pedestal base, which has occurred naturally and is part of the character of this piece of furniture.
