Antique Georgian chinoiserie wooden Ink Rocker Blotter for a desk
A wonderful antique ink rocker blotter, originally used to prevent fountain pen ink from smudging. Made from wood it has been hand painted in a chinoiserie design with Japanese figures and gold, red and royal blue painted detailing. It is full of character and charm. The central handle can be unscrewed which enables replacement blotting paper to be inserted.
History ~ Early 1800s, England.
Condition ~ Fair antique condition, the painted decoration shows many signs of wear, but it is attractive nonetheless.
