A wonderful Faalberg pure wool blanket using some of their classic colours - a distinctive bold yellow and brown in a plaid pattern. Known for being high-quality and thick (deken) and made using local wool in the Netherlands.
History ~
Produced in the Tilburg region, which was a significant woollen antique textile manufacturing area, known as 'the powerhouse' for its industrial scale production. However, by the 1970s and 1980s Faalberg, along with other manufacturers, was being seriously challenged due to the advent of synthetic blankets and modern and less expensive foreign imports. The revolutionary arrival of the duvet at roughly this time further led to the decline of many traditional Dutch mills.

Good antique condition, freshly laundered, no marks and soft wool.
