Featuring an attractive naturalistic and asymmetrical leaf motif design, with a strong texture and depth.  Such Victorian antique ceramics were often made from moulds created using real leaves which were pressed into clay.  This example features a ruffled edge and is wonderfully painted in strong vibrant colours - greens, reds, yellows and browns, all of which have deep textured tones due to the clear glaze which has been used.

History ~
Circa 1860 - 1880, at the height of the Victorian era and for some time after that, majolica items such as this were produced by numerous companies, this example has an impress number but no maker's mark.

Condition ~
Good antique condition, no chips or cracks.
