Antique 18th century Georgian oak Bureau and Writing Desk
A provincial oak writing bureau with a traditional fall front. When this is opened, an oak writing surface is revealed, above which are seven pigeon holes and four drawers, also made from oak. The bureau has four graduated drawers and is raised on bracket feet, with brass swan neck handles and escutcheons. Over time the wood has acquired a good warm colour and the bureau has an understated rustic charm.
History ~
George III, England.

The swan neck handles and one escutcheon are not original, at some point in the past they have been replaced with similar ones which are in keeping. Strong and sturdy, general signs of use, wear and age.
