A wonderful pair of caned chairs. Made from gilded wood, with curved medallion backs, fluted legs and ornate carved detailing. The wood is finished in gesso and gilded, and over many years of use it has acquired a good mellow patina.
History ~
Circa 1920s, France. These chairs take their inspiration from the neoclassical style associated with Louis XVI.
Condition ~
Good antique condition, the cane work is strong and solid for use.
