A fabulously decorative pair of torchères that make a bold visual impression. In their original green paint their design incorporates pineapple inspired carvings. They have acquired a wonderful patina over many years.
History ~ Unknown, most likely Anglo-Indian. Late 19th century or early 20th century. Provenance - from the estate of the late Screaming Lord Sutch.
Condition ~ Both stands are solid. The flat surface top to both of them is cracked but strong and solid and will support a heavy vase or heavy planter.
