A wonderful Wine Jug or Pitcher made in tin-enamelled earthenware, or majolica. This rustic pottery is full of charm - with a hand painted rabbit and other animals which are set between banded borders, all painted in blue, onto a cream or ecru background.

History ~
1800s Talavera de la Reina, Toledo, Spain. This area was known, since the Roman times, for its production of pottery. It used traditional production methods and make use of the good quality natural clay in the area. and produced a wide variety of ceramics, including functional utilitarian pieces such as plates, serving dishes, jugs and tiles.

Condition ~
Several chips, as shown in the images, no cracks.
