19th century French dressmakers wasp-waist black antique Mannequin
A decorative antique dressmakers mannequin, with a wonderfully narrow 'wasp-waist' which is covered in its original old black satin fabric. Full of character and charm, from a time long gone by. Set on a barley twist pole, with its original screw fitting so that the mannequin can be raised slightly. The main body of the mannequin is detachable from the pole for ease of moving.
History ~
Late 19th century, France.
Condition ~
Various rips to the black silk, a wide dent running across the back of the mannequin, signs of old but treated woodworm on the base.
